Special Rescue Stories
All of the cats and kittens we rescue are special. However there are always some whose journey from rescue to rehoming has been particularly transformative. Here are just a few of these stories to demonstrate who Pussycat Lodge really are, and what our volunteers do to give each and every cat their best chance at the life they truly deserve.
BUSTER
Buster was an unneutered stray with a terrible head wound, most likely from an infected bite from fighting.
Under PCL care he had a big operation to remove the necrotic skin on his face and head. An infected abscess was then found under the surface. He must have been in severe pain for quite some time.
After months of volunteers bathing his wound with salt water, he gradually healed and went to his forever home in August.
MAX
Max had been known as a local stray cat for many years. Various people in the area were feeding him and letting his sleep in their homes sometimes, but no one was looking out for his health. He was finally shut in by a concerned person who contacted us to bring him into the rescue. He was in a really sorry state. Very skinny, covered in scratches and scabs, and in desperate need of a dental as all four canines were broken.
After two dental treatments and lots of time spent by our volunteers to socialise him, Max began to realise he was now safe and loved. His wounds, and his trauma, slowly healed and Max is now in his forever home.
