Tabby and white male, approx. 2 years old.

This beautiful boy came to PCL with severe pruritus (itching). Timmy was causing damage to his head and legs with excessive scratching and his owners vets had been unable to help them manage the situation.
Timmy was diagnosed with a deep follicular infection, as his fur was easily coming out. He also had a skin and ear infection which was treated accordingly. So far during his stay in foster care he has had ear drops, eye drops, antibiotics, steroids, fluxetine liquid, and a buster collar on most of the time to get the infection and itching under control.
Throughout all of this, Timmy has been a real superstar! He is so tolerant of the various medications, and still always greets his foster mum with a loud hello meow, and purrs and tummy rubs.
Timmy is still on steroid tablets twice daily, and fluoxetine liquid which he just eats in his food, and is now itch and collar free!
Timmy is an adventurous boy, very entertaining when he plays, and is lots of fun to be around. He also loves a lap to curl up on and purrs like a little train.

Timmy is a very loving, playful young boy. He craves human attention and would much prefer to continue any ongoing treatment in a loving home. As much as his foster mum finds time to spend with him at least twice a day, we feel he would really benefit from a proper home environment where he will have more attention, company and playtime.
He would also enjoy the company of another cat, as he keeps trying to make friends with his foster mums two girls, who are not very sociable!
PCL are still in the process of determining if his itching was initially caused by an infection, or if it was down to an allergy, or a combination of both. For this reason, he is currently on a special Hills Z/D Food Sensitivities diet (wet and dry), although we will try him soon on 'normal' food to try and rule this in or out.
As a charity we would be happy to financially support the monitoring of Timmy's treatment with the specialist at Tari Vets in Shenfield, and would also be there to assist his adopters during this elimination and investigation process to try and determine any allergies to avoid this happening again in the future.
