Tiggy & Milo

We recently acquired two beautiful black kittens from PussyCat Lodge. Our daughter Tabitha kept asking us for a kitten – we already had three adult cats but thought another one would be nice, especially if we could give a home to a cat from PussyCat Lodge.

There was a notice in one of the newsletters saying there were kittens needing good homes so I contacted Jacqui and she told me about two little boys who were being looked after by a lady called Chris who lived in Dagenham. Jackie said they wanted to rehome them together and asked if I would be interested in having two instead of one. After a brief consultation with my husband, we agreed one extra wouldn't be a problem. So I 'phoned Chris and she told me all about the boys – she'd named them Smoky and Tipsy (one was all black and the other had a white tip on his tail). We arranged for Chris and her husband to bring the kittens round for us to have a look at. Chris added that there was no obligation for us to take them.

However, I can honestly say that from the moment we saw them, we fell in love. They were absolutely beautiful and made themselves at home in our house very quickly. At first, our other cats were wary and kept their distance. However in the days and weeks to come, the two boys became fully accepted by two of the older cats. Our little girl Cookie remains unconvinced, however!

We also now have another new family member, Bubble – a lovely little Tabby. We rescued him from a friend of a friend who, having acquired him for her young son, found she didn't have the time to look after him properly and often had to leave him alone for long periods in the daytime. Since being with us he has really come on and his two new "brothers" adore him. The three of them tear through our house like a tornado and it's wonderful to see little Bubble so much happier than when we first met him.

We've renamed the two brothers Tiggy (after my late Grandmother's cat) and Milo (after one of Tabitha's favourite characters in the Tweenies). They are really lovely cats, well-behaved and both so affectionate – Milo likes a nightly lap-cuddle and Tiggy is beginning to copy him. Sometimes they both climb on together! We couldn't wish for nicer cats and consider ourselves very lucky to have found two such lovely boys. They are a credit to Chris and her husband who obviously looked after them so well during their first weeks of life.
