We arrived at PCLT to pick up Dotty who had been found abandoned or lost in Shenfield suffering from a Liver complaint. She was yet again another "Oldie" who desperately needed some love and attention in her last days. After already suffering some heartache when looking after Billy, who survived many months before his thyroid illness got the better of him, and Tallulah who had a Liver growth and who only survived a few weeks, could I really go through that again? Well, of-course I couldn't miss the chance of giving Dotty what she needed!

Dotty
I agreed with some trepidation as I already had my hands full with my bunch of cats and a mother with 5 kittens. Dotty has taken a few weeks to get used to cat family life and it has taken a few spits and hisses before she now has the run, or hobble ,of the whole house.
On this same visit, Jennie introduced both Mick (long suffering and also cat mad husband) and myself to Bruce, an absolutely gorgeous black and white youngster who had been found abandoned in a box with his dead sibling. Bruce is the most adorable friendly kitten who stole our hearts straight away. We could not resist taking him home as well!

Well, as you can see by the photographs they have begun a great friendship, and also get on with my other 8 cats - yes 8! I did say my long suffering and cat mad husband!!

Although previously I've said there is some heartache when taking an oldie under your wing, the pleasure they give and knowing that their last days are comfortable far outweighs this. So please, if you have a spare piece of your heart and home, consider this type of fostering.
