Mr Datcher

Mr Datcher was a beautiful black boy who lived at PussyCat Lodge with Jennie. He originally belonged to an elderly lady and when she passed away she left behind 57 cats! Wood Green Animal Shelter took on the job of sorting out these cats and Jennie offered to help with the trapping. She held the cats overnight while waiting for Wood Green to collect them.

Nobody expected this boy to be so clever, however, and he managed to escape and hide on top of a pen in a hut (Jennie had built little houses up high for the feral cats that live at PussyCat Lodge). Jennie fed him there but was unable to catch him so quickly a second time. Cats need a little time to forget certain experiences, but then some never do! Mr Datcher would sit on top of the pen and swipe at her head as she went in just to make sure she hadn't forgotten him.

Eventually, Jennie got used to having him around and he became one of our older sponsor cats. Obviously mid-way on his original journey he decided he liked the look of the Lodge and was defiantly going to stay put!
