Markeeta & Max

When I had the last of my old cats put to sleep due to illness I did not think I would have any more, but after nearly a year I realised I could not live without cats. I decided to give a home to older cats, rather than kittens as I had done in the past.

I now have a mother and her son. Max was a confident two year old - playful, mad, bouncy a real character. Markeeta was timid, hiding under furniture and down the side of the bed. Now she runs to greet me at the front door, flopping onto her back to give me her tummy to rub, before taking of to the kitchen for food. At first they sat with me of an evening but were not lap cats. However this has changed, they both sit on me and I have to wake both cats to move. They have learned to trust again, and have made my house into a home. I love them to bits.

I have not replaced my old cats, nothing will ever take their place in my heart but there is room in a heart to love again, and get to know other cats that can make me smile and feel content just listening to their purr's and watching then explore their new home.
