My story began when my other owner had said she was going to take me outside the block and dump me as she said I was destroying her flat. Someone rang Liz, who has become my new Mum, to check this hadn't been done. I met her and she seemed okay but I didn't know what she was going to do. She took me to her flat and I was very scared as I didn't know her and didn't know why this had happened so I hid behind her lounge curtains and didn't eat much even when she went to bed. I didn't eat when she was in the room.
Gradually I came out to explore my new home, but when I heard any noise, on the landing, I hid again. After 2 weeks I stayed out and had a good look round my new home and thought it's not too bad here as I get lovely food, lots of love and my new Mum plays with me. She has bought me toys which she throws. If I'm in the mood I chase after them. When I'm not I watch her fetch them!!
She has told me all about Luwie and his Lioness toy that was with him when he was dying, which sadly happened on 29th November 2004. I've made that mine as I've jumped on her bed to play with it and she doesn't mind. I take it and his Seal toy to her and leave them on the floor. They're my presents to her - I'm so generous!! We love each other now but when she tells me off I smack her with my paw as us cats have to show our members of staff who is boss!! Another thing I do is when she's typing I stand on the keyboard so her letters/emails look a lot different to what they should do and I get told off again!! She forgives me saying. "Lily do you want to write it, it's so lovely to have another cat!!"
Yesterday, 1st December 2005, when she was wrapping some Christmas presents I sat on the paper. Did I want to be the gifts? No I just wanted to get in the way!! I'm looking forward to all the seasonal food: my Mum got some cream so if I'm very good I'm hoping she'll give me some!!
I'm 18 months old and if I say so myself I'm very playful, although my new Mum calls me naughty!! I've got lot of nicknames here they are: Pouncer, Bullet, Whoppet (a cross between whippet and a horse), Helicopter, Torpedo, Lilipops and Nosey Paws!! She thinks they suit me a lot better than my real name!!
Liz has got a bad cold and is under the weather whereas I'm literally bouncing with health!! A lot of people are ill at the moment, I hope all at Pussycat Lodge and your Newsletter readers are well?
All for now as my paws are aching from all this typing and I'm off for a nice long sleep on Mum's bed!!
Love and Purrs, Lily
