Why did we call her "Honey"? So I could say "Hi Honey, I'm home"!! Also 'cos she was sooo sweet and friendly and she has a honey coloured patch under her chin. She really wanted a new home - she'd been at PCL for months while her elderly owner was in hospital, and now the old lady had died she could finally be put up for homing. I'm sure some of you will remember her story: the old lady was badly hurt in a kitchen explosion and we were told that Honey's fur looked like a Brillo pad where it had curled and shrivelled from the heat! She had lost the "points" of her ears as well. It's a wonder she wasn't scarred psychologically from the trauma but she settled straight in. She was happy just to be allowed free roam of the house after living at PCL for so long, and when she was finally allowed outside, well; she was in heaven!

Even being introduced to our other cats, Bruno and Amber, didn't faze her. When Amber first met Bruno she "wet herself" for months 'cos he was such a big male Tabby, but Honey didn't care. She tried to "bop" him one on the nose despite him being twice her size! She follows you around the garden, runs full pelt up a tree and when she rolls on her back to offer her tummy she DOESN'T ATTACK YOUR HAND IF YOU RUB IT! She loves to roll around in the dust at the bottom of the garden till a cloud surrounds her as she trots back across the lawn rather like "Pig Pen" in the Peanuts cartoon. She gives the faintest little "meew" of greeting and enjoys helping herself from the 2kg bag of Go Cat! If she can't get her head into the upright bag, she will tip the whole lot over and walk in, so there's just back legs and a very happy tail showing!!

When Bruno died we got George from PCL (I'll tell you his story another time) and again she wasn't scared even though he was possibly even bigger than Bruno! In fact she acts more like a kitten than the younger, sedate George. She's a little "honey bee" who tries to catch butterflies and loves to roll around in our plant pot of Catmint. She'll climb inside any drawer you open, move the stuff around if she can to make herself comfy and, if she's lucky, she won't get shut in by mistake. She's a sweetie!
